How to enjoy Hollow Lantern without spoiling it for yourself
Hollow Lantern is short enough that the temptation to look up puzzle solutions is strong, but resist it. The puzzles are fair, and the satisfaction comes from noticing the clue the game already showed you.
My advice is to explore fully before advancing the story. The town holds small details that add up, and rushing means you miss most of what makes it memorable.
Play it with headphones if you can. The sound design does a lot of the storytelling, and I caught things on a second pass that I'd walked right past the first time.
It's a slow, quiet game and it's better for it. Give it an evening and let it set its own pace.
